Road Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs)
Date: July 14, 2025Overview
The first webinar of the AfRSO Secretariat focused on Road Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs), a critical tool for evidence-based policymaking in road safety. SPIs provide essential insights into the factors that influence road safety outcomes, enabling policymakers to move beyond reactive measures and proactively address risks.
The webinar brought together national road safety coordinators, members of regional observatories, policymakers, and technical experts from across Africa and beyond. Participants explored the added value of SPIs, appropriate methodologies for their collection and use, and good practices from African countries and other world regions.
